Advanced SMC Panel Moulding Technology
SFMC GRP SMC Panel Water Tanks are manufactured using Sheet Moulding Compound (SMC), a composite material made from unsaturated polyester resin, glass fibre, and reinforcing materials. The panels are moulded under high heat and pressure to produce strong, durable components with a smooth, glass-like internal finish.
The tank’s floor, walls, and roof are assembled using standardised bolted panels. External bracing provides structural support while keeping metal reinforcement separate from the stored water. Specially designed base and drain panels facilitate efficient drainage, making periodic cleaning and inspection easier.
The panel shapes are developed using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to optimise structural performance. Optional PU foam-insulated panels help minimise fluctuations in stored water temperature under hot or cold environmental conditions.
